Steel cutting and processing is a fundamental step in the production of steel products, and its cutting quality and efficiency are crucial for subsequent manufacturing processes. Currently, the industry mainly adopts the following steel cutting processes:

Longitudinal cutting of Steel Materials

Longitudinal cutting is suitable for the initial rough cutting of steel products, featuring high efficiency and low cost. We have multiple large cutting machines capable of cutting steel materials up to 18 meters in length and 16 millimeters in thickness. The cutting blades apply cutting force to cut through the steel materials, providing a simple and rapid cutting method.

However, Longitudinal cutting is limited to straight-line cutting of steel materials and cannot cut curves or other special shapes. The cut edges will have a certain degree of burrs that require further deburring treatment. Additionally, cutting thicker steel material may result in some deformation. Therefore, when you have specific requirements for cutting precision and steel shapes, we recommend adopting other processes such as plasma cutting, laser cutting, or water jet cutting.

Transverse cutting of Steels

Similar to Longitudinal cutting, transverse cutting also uses cutting machines, but the cutting direction is along the width of the steel materials. Our production lines are equipped with large cutting machines capable of cutting steel material up to 3 meters in width, suitable for most standard-width steel material.

Transverse cutting also offers the advantages of speed and low cost, making it ideal for cutting wider steel materials into multiple smaller-sized material to meet different application requirements. However, it shares the limitations of straight-line cutting, burr formation, and potential deformation, which may not satisfy some applications with higher cutting quality requirements.

Steel Plasma Cutting

Plasma cutting is one of our precision cutting processes. It utilizes the high temperature (approximately 30,000°C) generated by a plasma arc to locally melt the steel materials, and then a high-speed gas is used to blow away the molten material, achieving the cutting process. This method can cut steel material of various specifications and shapes, including straight lines, curves, and other complex patterns.

Plasma cutting can cut steel products of various specifications and shapes, whether straight lines, curves, or other complex patterns, with excellent cut quality, smooth and straight cut edges, and no significant heat-affected zones. Our plasma cutting equipment can cut steel materials up to 50 millimeters in thickness.

Due to its high precision and cutting quality, plasma cutting is particularly suitable for processing steel structures, mechanical components, and other applications with high cut edge requirements. Steel Laser Cutting

Laser cutting is our flagship product for precision steel material cutting and processing. We employ advanced 6000W fiber laser cutting systems capable of high-precision cutting of steel material in various shapes, including straight lines, curves, circles, and complex irregular shapes, with a cutting accuracy of ±0.1 millimeters.

Laser cutting produces excellent cut quality, with smooth and even cut edges, and no heat-affected zones. Our laser cutting equipment can cut steel material up to 25 millimeters in thickness, covering a wide range of steel materials such as carbon structural steel, alloy structural steel, and stainless steel.

The laser cutting process combines high precision and high efficiency, making it the preferred choice for precision steel material cutting and processing. Steel Water Jet Cutting

To address the cutting requirements of certain special steel materials or extra-thick steel material, we are equipped with advanced water jet cutting systems. Water jet cutting utilizes extremely high water pressure (approximately 4,000 bar) to locally remove material from the steel material.

The outstanding advantage of water jet cutting is its ability to cut without heat effects or deformation, suitable for cutting almost any material, including difficult-to-cut aluminum alloys, specialty stainless steels, high-hardness alloy steels, and non-metallic materials such as stone. The cutting thickness is also unlimited, with our water jet cutting equipment capable of cutting steel material up to 500 millimeters in thickness.

This process is particularly suitable for the aerospace, energy, and shipbuilding industries, offering excellent cutting performance for special steel materials and extra-thick steel material used in these sectors. Steel Flame Cutting

Flame cutting is the most traditional cutting method in the steel material processing industry. It utilizes a high-temperature flame to locally melt the steel material, and then compressed air is used to blow away the molten material, achieving the cutting process.

We employ semi-automated flame cutting equipment capable of cutting steel material up to 200 millimeters in thickness, with relatively high cutting efficiency. Due to its simple process and low cost, flame cutting is often used for low-end steel material cutting applications with less stringent quality requirements.

It is important to note that flame cutting will produce a certain heat-affected zone and protrusions at the cut edges, resulting in relatively rough cut surfaces. Therefore, for products with higher cutting quality requirements, we generally recommend more advanced processes such as plasma cutting, laser cutting, or water jet cutting.
